Having stayed in Northampton for the night i had a choice of 4 parkruns in the area, however, decided on Salcey Forset as it was a one lapper, trail course, and lower numbers and it hit the spot on all of those counts! A really nice course, through the forest, on hard trail paths. It was also a fairly flat course, it undulated a tiny bit, however, overall flat and despite the rain etc, it was not that muddy. As is the tradition now, Christmas day parkrun at Basingstoke. Poppy & Mum came along to support and it was an amazing atmosphere. 620 parkrunners, which is a post covid record and i think that was repeated around the country at other parkruns. The weather certainly helped - it was mild, and although there was a little mizzle in the air, it was good running weather. It was muddy, and i was not speedy, but really enjoyed being out, a great way to start the Christmas Day. Weather on the day...

Mild and muddy sums up the run this morning. Even muddier than our last visit to Winchester, however it just meant it was a nice steady plod around the course. First run after having a heavy cold for approx 10 days. So nice to be out and about again, just took it fairly easy and enjoyed being out.
